LILJA

LILJA (Oddrun Lilja Jonsdottir) is a gifted guitarist, singer and composer from Oslo, Norway. She has been making waves on the jazz scene with her innovative, multifaceted ensemble. Such daring, stylistic fusion has become a hallmark of LILJA's sound and made her one of the brightest new stars on the Oslo jazz scene.

She has performed at various venues in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, New York and throughout Europe, and has collaborated with major names as Bugge Wesseltoft, Paal Nilssen-Love, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Beady Belle and Frode Haltli.

LILJA’s debut album Marble (2020), was met with rave reviews from critics and audiences in her homeland, while the 2023 follow up, Mirage, featuring eclectic collaborations with traditional musicians from Sápmi, Brazil, Morocco and Pakistan was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy Award. In 2023 she was the main composer of the big commission in Vossa Jazz’ 50 years anniversary. In 2024 she composed an audiovisual orchestra piece for the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, herself, a poet from Iran and a visual artist from Belarus. The piece was commissioned by Ultima and premiered in the Norwegian Opera House in september 2024.
